The Student Eats Team

Student Eats is part of Our Bright Future, a portfolio of 31 projects funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

NUS Student Eats has been awarded lottery funding to run a new food based enterprise scheme called ‘Our Bright Future’ as part of a big national project with a consortium of 31 partners all working towards young people improving their environment –

Through the Student Eats programme we are aiming to help students across the UK set up farmers markets, veg bag schemes, food buying groups and other food based businesses (large and small) over the next 5yrs in partnership with the Soil Association, Sustain and the Plunkett Foundation. We will offer student-led projects expert support (in-person meetings, training, telephone & email support), free resources (handbooks, online materials, webinars etc) as well as start-up costs.

Our schedule of dates and application guidelines should be available on our website within the next couple of weeks –

There is currently an Expression of Interest form available on our website but it would be worth discussing this with Katy before submitting a form as I think Katy was planning to complete a general one for the university.

Some of your students seemed really keen so please feel free to pass on this email address to any of them if they would like more information. They may also be interested in liking our Facebook page so they can get regular updates – and if it would be helpful for me to come in and have a chat with them about submitting a full application at any point just let me know.
